About Newtown and District Dial-A-Ride

Newtown and District Dial-A-Ride was established in 1991 with the principal aim of providing affordable door to door community based transport.

Dial-A-Ride is the only fully accessible transport link in Mid -Wales for the elderly and young and has over 700 members who use the service on a daily basis. 2003 Dial-A-Ride achieved just over 15,000 journeys all over Mid Wales.

Primarily for the elderly, disabled and people with mobility problems, residing in Newtown and the surrounding area Newtown Dial-A-Ride buses have been fully adapted to allow access for all passengers. Last year we transported over 3,500 wheelchair users and delivered over 3,000 meals on wheels.

The age group covered ranges from new born babies and upwards. We achived many trips last year all over the country from going on holiday visiting family and friends but on a serious note we transported people to funerals for them to say goodbye to their loved ones. Newtown and District Dial a Ride still only recieves just under Ł7,000.00 per year from our local Councils.
